Descente de l'Entrepôt - Leaving the Warehouse

28 décembre 2019 - Marais Salants de Kampot. Après trois années de très mauvaises récoltes de sel marin, la saison 2020 commence plutôt bien et très tôt. Parmi l'ensemble des marais salants de Kampot, il s'agit ici de la toute première collecte de sel de la saison! Deux hommes et une femme rassemblent le sel à l'aide de racloirs (12 tas de sel par oeillet) et transportent le sel à la palanche jusqu'à l'entrepôt le plus proche. A trois, ils peuvent produire jusqu'à 3 tonnes de sel en une matinée. Tous les entrepôts étant entièrement vides, cette première récolte est synonyme d'espoir et de renouveau.

28 December 2019 - Kampot Salt Fields. After three years with none or little salt harvest, the season 2020 starts quite well and very early. Among the entire salt marshes in Kampot, this is the very first salt collection of the season. Two men and one woman gather the salt with rakes then transport it on a pole to the closer salt warehouse. Together, they can produce up to 3 tons of salt in one morning. All warehouses being totally empty, this first harvest is a sign of hope and new era.
