Participez au Projet Visages du Monde !
Ce projet photographique consiste à prendre 4 clichés serrés du visage de chaque participant (adolescents de 15 ans et plus et adultes de tous âges et genres). Le projet s'étalera sur 25 ans environ. Le but est de photographier 5 à 20 personnes ressortissantes de chacun des Etats du monde représentant ensemble les composantes et la diversité de chacune de ces nations. Une ou plusieurs expositions et livres en cours et en fin de projet devraient venir couronner ces 25 années de portraits.
Ces 4 portraits correspondent à 4 émotions: sérénité (portrait les yeux fermés), colère (un cri de révolte, de colère ou de souffrance), moment de joie (sourire ou fou rire) et une émotion profondément humaine à communiquer par l'expression des yeux (amour, empathie, étonnement, curiosité, sincérité, honnêteté, altruisme, gentillesse etc.). Les photos se font sans maquillage et en extérieur, sans lumière artificielle ni réflecteur.
Ces portraits en noir et blanc ont pour objectif de faire ressortir l’humanité, la profondeur et la personnalité de chaque personne photographiée. Il s'agit de mettre en avant les points communs entre les gens plutôt que leurs différences. L’essentiel n’est pas de montrer seulement l’enveloppe ou l’apparence extérieure des visages ou les différences de traits en fonction des origines, mais plutôt de faire apparaître les aspirations profondes, l’être intérieur voire intime de ces personnes, dans la mesure où la photographie le permet.
Pour compléter la démarche photographique, un questionnaire en lien avec les émotions exprimées est donné à remplir à chacune des personnes photographiées en français ou en anglais ou, chaque fois que ce sera possible, dans sa langue d’origine.
Les participants reçoivent la copie électronique des photos ainsi que les 2 meilleures photos imprimées en format 20x30 cm.

Be part of the World Faces’ Project!
This project consists in taking four close photographs of the face of each participant (teenagers aged 15+ and adults of all age and gender). The project will last around 25 years. The goal pursued is to photograph 5 to 20 persons of each country in the world who will be representative of the diversity and various components of each nation. Exhibitions and books during and after the project should be the culmination of those years of portraits.
The four close-ups depict four very different emotions: serenity (with the eyes closed), anger (a scream of revolt, anger or suffering), moment of joy (smile or hysteric laughter) and an emotion deeply human to express mainly through the eyes (love, empathy, astonishment, curiosity, sincerity, honesty, altruism, kindness, etc.). The portraits are taken preferably without make up; the source of light is natural (daylight): no flash or reflector is used.
The goal pursued through these photographs in black and white is to show the humanity, depth and character of each person photographed. The close-ups in black and white allow to put forward the common features of people instead of their differences. What counts is not showing the human body shell, the external appearance of the faces or the differences of shapes and features between people of various origins, but to reveal the deep aspirations and the intimate being of the persons photographed, as much as the photography allows it.
In counterpoint of this photographic project and to give it a more meaningful impact, a questionnaire with questions directly related to each of the four photographic themes will be given to each model to be filled in either English, French or, whenever possible, in a language she/he understands.
The participants receive the electronic copy of the photographs and the 20x30 cm printing of the two best photographs taken.
